There are hundreds of national holidays in the Cheltian Nation, of varying importance. They are remembered by the Lorm and enforced by the Char. They can have different meanings and value, but generally consist of remembering great figures or events in the history of the Nation.
One peculiar feature of Cheltian National holidays is that often they do not apply to everyone. They are often caste-specific, and involve recalling the great deeds of past members of their caste, or gods and spirits related to the activities of their caste. Holidays usually do involve great feasts and time off work, though this is determined by the local Char, and in times of strife, holidays are only partially observed.
